Fr: Rob Kolstad, 2011 NSS Convention Registrar
Registrations are really heating up for the 2011 NSS Convention to
be held July 18-22 in beautiful Glenwood Springs, Colorado. June
15 (soon!) is the last day for the largest discounts.
Not only is the convention to be held in a fabulous dry climate,
but the free campground is located adjacent to the attractive Roaring
Fork River just a couple hundred feet from the brand new high school
that is hosting our talks and activities.
Glenwood Springs is a Colorado tourist town with plenty of affordable
restaurants and other activities (most notably white water rafting,
which is just about as fun as caving on a good day). A splendid
full-color Convention Guidebook showcases the highlights of northwest
Colorado caving. THREE different pre-convention geology field trips
The convention is complete with workshops, field trips, a howdy
party at Glenwood Caverns, and all the standard features. Bring
your bicycle (and security lock) to enjoy 40 miles of bike paths,
including one that runs all the way to Aspen, Colorado. The bike
path runs directly next to the campground. This area of Colorado
is a biker's, hiker's, and photographer's delight.
