court settlement refund

Postby wendy » Dec 14, 2007 2:33 pm

For those that have been out of the country between Feb 1996 and Nov 2006, and used a credit card in that country, did you get a notice from the US district court settlement administrator about a small refund for fees or charges or something when you used certain credit cards abroad? I got one. I had heard on the news and over heard a conversation at the airport about it that people who qualified would get notice in themail, Just curious if anyone else here got one.

I vaguely remember hearing something about this, but I don't think I ever got anything in the mail.

I got 2 in the mail, and put them aside figuring that I needed to look into them (figure out if they were a scam or something). Fortunately, tonight NPR had a really good explanation on the deal. I'll be submitting my requests for $25 each.

Read fine print. You are entitled only to one 25$ refund despite number of card you used abroad

Also consider how much money the lawyers are taking home from this settlement.

I believe NPR reported it was >$300 million. But isn't that the way.

Actually on the news report I saw, it said if you kept receipts, you can get quite a bit more than $25

I think if you spent more than 2500 then you can get more than $25 back.
